The CalderCraft Joffre Tyne Tug is a detailed 1:48 scale model of a working tug built in 1916 for the coastal towing business. The original Joffre was owned by Lawson-Batey Tugs Ltd. of Newcastle on Tyne and had an engine power of 1,140 horsepower. The finished model measures approximately 775 mm in length and is designed for radio control. The ship model kit includes a GRP hull, CNC-cut superstructure and deck, screen-printed overlays, and more than 300 cast fittings. The fittings include small crew figures and even the ship's dog, adding some character to the finished model. Timber, cordage, and vacuum-formed lifeboats are also included.
